Oaks Way AGM very well received

The Centre's AGM & Friends meeting was held in November and was a great success with lots of positive and complimentary feedback given over drinks and nibbles following the meeting.

A large number of people attended the meeting including the Deputy Mayor of Sutton Nali Patel, who is also the Older People's Champion in Sutton, who closed the meeting with some personal, poetic and motivating comments.
We shared information about what we'd achieved over the past year, Centre Manager Sally Martin and Activities Coordinator Daniel Shaw presented an entertaining section outlining the details of the various events, activities and services that take place - and we also outlined what we intend to achieve over the coming year.
We reported that we have successfully delivered against our 2016 objectives - these being:
1.Continuing to deliver and enhance quality services & activities
2.Continuing to raise awareness of the Centre and to increase the profile within the local community
3.Successfully managing the transition away from LBS subsidies to a new independent funding model
4.Further improving the Centre premises to provide greater usage by clients and opportunities for local organisations
The event finished with a mini-movie of the images of the year, set to music.
