2019 AGM on Tues 19 November click here for details

You are warmly invited to the Oaks Way Senior Centre’s 2019 AGM and Friends meeting from 3:30pm to 5:00pm on Tuesday 19th November, followed by drinks and nibbles.  The venue will be at the Centre in Oaks Way, Carshalton, SM5 4NQ.

At a time when social isolation amongst the elderly within the Borough continues to be of great concern, we are keen to engage and share ideas with other local providers of services for the elderly, so that we can all support each other.

The event will be an opportunity to hear about the Centre’s progress of our activities and services, how we are looking to expand awareness of these, as well as discussing the challenges of the future and how best we can work together to address these.

It will be an informative and relaxed event and I do hope you will be able to attend.
Feel free to bring along a colleague or share this invitation with other representatives.

Sutton & Kingston Mayors visit the Centre over the Carshalton Lavender Weekend!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came in to buy refreshments at the Oaks Way Centre over the Lavender Weekend of 27th & 28th July. It was a great success!

After a damp start on the Saturday morning when we had to have a few stalls set up inside the Centre, the weather eventually dried out and the crowds turned out later in the day and all day on Sunday. There were lots and lots of cakes and biscuits and plenty of teas, coffees and soft drinks!

The Mayor & Mayoress and Deputy Mayor of Sutton as well as the Mayor if Kingston and her consort had a tour of the Centre and enjoyed tea & cakes.

All the funds raised went towards the Mayor of Sutton’s Charities – THANK YOU!

2019 Afternoon Tea Party a success!

On Saturday 22 June 2019 the Centre held its large Annual ‘Luxury Afternoon Tea Party’ in the glorious sunshine to raise funds for the Centre.

125 people attended including guest of honour the Mayor of Sutton Muhammad Sadiq.  In between plates laden with sandwiches, cakes, pastries as well as cups of tea the attendees were entertained by songs from Sutton Harmony – an all women group singing a cappella barbershop style.

Just a few cakes!
